WHAT'S NEW ARCHIVE:

CHURCH ADDITION IMPROVEMENT RECORD

On Sunday November 10th, 2002 we broke ground in a ceremony that followed worship service. We are excited about the new addition. Indeed God has blessed us and we are striving to serve the people in the community.

An improved sound system was installed before worship service on Sunday December 8th, 2002.

The first stages of construction on the new addition began December 11th, 2002. Most of the dirt is moved and we are ready to have forms laid in for the foundation.

Now the frame is up for the church and we are awaiting the roof being built.

The roof and shingles are on the new addition while we await many things to be done for the interior of the building.

We now have all of the roof complete and some of the wiring and plumbing is complete

Painting and laying the outside brick is underway. There is now an opening into the new addition from the existing building.

The painting is nearing completion and tile floors were laid in the entryways and in the bathroom and kitchen. A new well is expected to be drilled soon.

A well has been drilled and interior doors are being installed and stained.

Molding and trim work is taking place as well as cement being poured in front of the entrance to the addition

Cabinets were put into the warming kitchen area as well as the old stairway to the basement was removed

New carpet and paint/stain were applied to the side room of the sanctuary

October 5, 2003 -- The church addition was dedicated to God in a ceremony which took place after worship service!

July 10, 2005 -- The church addition has a new sidewalk on the western side of the building. A new sign was built in the previous year.

After many years of prayers and waiting for some land to become available near the church, we were able to purchase a little over three acres directly behind the church in July of 1997.

Central air conditioning was added in the spring of 1999 just in time to provide relief from a very hot summer. A ramp to provide handicapped access was completed this year and was used the very next Sunday by a visitor in a wheel chair. We are presently working to improve the sound system in the sanctuary.

A team comprised of our pastor and several lay people from the church has been attending a spiritual leadership workshop held at Oakwood Spiritual Life Center. Our fourth and final session is this October. When we shared our experiences in trying to discover God's plan for us as a congregation, things started happening far beyond our expectations.

Plans are now being made for the addition of a fellowship hall and educational unit. Construction should begin in the fall of 2002.
